Building Better Communities: Introducing Groups and Platform Safety

Your Squad, Your Rules. Introducing Groups and Safety Upgrades.

Matchmaking for a quick session is one thing, but building a lasting team is another. At Broop, we believe that the best gaming experiences happen when you find a stable circle of players who share your goals, your schedule, and your vibe.

Today, we’re excited to roll out two major features designed to take your gaming community to the next level: Groups and a comprehensive Report System.

Key Takeaways

  • Persistent Groups: Create a permanent home for your squad, clan, or guild.
  • Discussion Boards: Coordinate raids, matches, or server schedules in one place.
  • Advanced Discovery: Find groups matched to your game library and crossplay preferences.
  • Community Safety: A robust reporting system to keep the platform clean and trusted.

Groups: Beyond the Single Match.

While our core matchmaking helps you find individual partners, Groups are built for the long haul. Whether you're a dedicated competitive stack in a tactical shooter or a group of survivors on a shared server, Groups give you the tools to manage your team effectively.

  • Role Management: Assign roles like Owner, Squad, and Member to organize your hierarchy.
  • Crossplay Aware: Our discovery algorithm now respects crossplay settings. If a group has crossplay enabled, you'll find them even if you're playing on a different platform.
  • Popularity Ranking: Discover the most active communities first with our new sorting logic based on member count and recent updates.

Discussion Boards: Plan Before You Play.

Every group comes with its own private or public Discussion Board. No more jumping between different apps just to decide who’s bringing the resources or what time the next ranked match starts.

The discussion boards are integrated directly into the group profile, allowing for threaded replies, pinned comments from the owner, and real-time coordination. It's the central hub for your team's strategy.

A Safer Community with the new Report System.

Growth brings responsibility. To ensure that Broop remains the best place to find non-toxic teammates, we’ve implemented a platform-wide Report System.

We didn't just add a button; we built a transparent moderation workflow:

  1. Report Anything: You can now report users, groups, or specific comments that violate community guidelines.
  2. Detailed Context: Provide specific reasons and descriptions to help our admin team understand the situation.
  3. Status Tracking: Check the status of your reports directly in your Settings. You’ll know exactly when a report is Pending, Resolved, or Dismissed, along with notes from the moderation team.

Admin-Led Moderation.

To protect our users, our team now has the ability to restrict groups that violate terms. A restricted group is hidden from the public but remains accessible to the owner for corrections. This "Fix First" approach ensures that we support community growth while maintaining high standards of behavior.

What’s Next?

These features are just the beginning of our mission to build a deeper, more connected gaming ecosystem. We are constantly refining our matching algorithms and adding new tools to help you spend less time searching and more time playing.

  1. Explore Groups: Visit the Groups tab to find your next team.
  2. Check Recommendations: Look at the "For You" list for groups matching your profile.
  3. Stay Safe: Use the Report tools whenever you encounter toxicity.

Let's build a better way to play, together.
